Meet Our Amazing Team
Board-certified pediatricians and specialists dedicated to giving your child the very best care.

Dr. Tae'Ni Chang-Stroman
Board Certified Pediatrician. Caring for NWI kids since 1994.
Dear Parents,
I’ve been a practicing pediatrician for over 30 years. My style encompasses both a conservative and practical approach towards childcare.
From my training at the University of Michigan & the University of Chicago, I have learned to: Not prescribe medications unnecessarily & to minimize hospital stays with up-to-date pediatric care & vaccinations.
Being a father/step-father, I have also learned to be practical in regards to raising children (potty training, discipline, eating issues, even those teens!, etc).
I enjoy working with parents & assisting them to raise their children. I enjoy working with the kids- it’s my life’s work & what I do best!
I combine the two approaches above with a personal touch & strive to be the best pediatrician for your child(ren).
Sincerely,
Dr. Stroman

Dr. Parul Pathak
Board Certified Pediatrician. Practical, empathetic care. Mom of two.
She is the Vice Chairman of Pediatrics at Community Hospital in Munster, IN.
Dr. Pathak has been practicing pediatrics In Northwest Indiana since 2003. She is an AAP Fellow and is Board Certified.
Dear Parents,
I have been a practicing pediatrician in the Northwest Indiana area for the since 2003. My practice style is one that is conservative, up to date, practical, and empathetic. I love working with kids . . . it’s who I am to the core. In addition to taking care of kids, I truly believe in addressing the entire family’s needs.
Through my training at Rush Children’s Hospital in Chicago, I’ve learned to minimize the use of antibiotics to those cases that absolutely require them, minimize the use of labs and x-rays unless it will change my plan of care, and to only hospitalize when truly necessary.
As a mother of two young children, I’ve learned that kids don’t necessarily follow the books, and that you need to look at each child as an individual. I can say I’ve personally dealt with issues such as breastfeeding, temper tantrums, sleep routines and problems, and toilet training. Although I don’t have any teenagers at home, I do realize that they too have special issues. Although I will always stress open communication between the teenager and their parents, I do respect their privacy so they feel they can be open with me.
I assure you I will do everything to make you and your children happy and comfortable in my care. I promise that I will take care of your children as I would want my own to be cared for.
Sincerely,
Dr. Parul Pathak

Dr. Kenan Qin
Board Certified Pediatrician & Pediatric Endocrinologist. Published researcher. Dad of two.
He immigrated to the United States in 1989 in search of intellectual opportunities and worked as a postdoctoral research fellow in two distinguished pediatric and reproductive endocrine research laboratories.
In 1997, Dr. Qin joined the University of Chicago training program in pediatric endocrinology where he has done extensive basic and clinical research in pediatric endocrinology.
He completed his pediatric endocrine fellowship training at The University of Chicago in 2000, and became a faculty member in the Department of Pediatrics, at the University of Chicago Hospitals in February 2003. Dr. Qin became an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics in the Section of Adult and Pediatric Endocrinology, Metabolism, and Diabetes prior to pursuing becoming Board-eligible in Pediatrics and Pediatric Endocrinology in 2009. He went on to complete his second pediatric residency (to obtain Board Certification in U.S.) at University of Chicago in 2012.
Dear Parents,
I was trained as a pediatrician and a pediatric endocrinologist in China, and have done extensive basic and clinical research in pediatric endocrinology since I moved into United States in 1989.
I have joined this wonderful group of pediatricians to provide first-rate medical service to the community. For over the past 26 years I have served as a pediatric endocrine fellow, an Attending Physician, and then a general pediatric resident again at The University of Chicago Comer Children’s Hospital and La Rabida Children’s Hospital. I have had exposure to a wide variety of chronic and acute disease states and disorders, including endocrine, diabetes, neurology, pulmonary, gastroenterology, and hematology/oncology patients.
I have two beautiful daughters of my own, and I would bring to the community a proven commitment to first-rate health care, excellent treatment and training skills, and the desire to continually improve both the quality of the lives of my patients and my own skill as a physician.
Sincerely,
Dr Kenan Qin

Dr. Erica Yamout
Board Certified Pediatrician. Mom of two.
Hi parents!
I have been practicing pediatrics for over14 years and absolutely adore kids. I’m passionate about both you and them feeling comfortable and educated about whatever the situation is.
As a mom of 2, I realize every child is unique in their needs. Having children myself, gave me a great perspective of real world care and advice beyond the educational aspect.
I want to provide the absolute best and safest care possible to all my patients. I work with all concerns and promise to work on finding the best solution!
Warm regards,
Erica Yamout, DO, FAAP
Nicole Sutowski
Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. Mom.
Dear Parents,
I have worked in pediatrics since 2017 and have always been passionate about children and believe in patient and family-centered care. I have worked in all realms of pediatrics, ranging from critical care to primary care.
I am a mother myself, and always try to treat each patient how I would want my child to be cared for. I have personal and professional experience with breastfeeding and everything related to infants, as well as a background in pulmonology.
Communication is a staple in my practice and I feel that it is very important to get to know each patient and family individually and provide care holistically. I utilize a conservative method of treatment and only prescribe, treat, and order diagnostics if absolutely necessary.
I look forward to meeting and getting to know all of the wonderful patients at Kids First Pediatrics!
Warm Regards,
Nicole Sutowski MSN, APN, FNP-C
